Aura Daraba

Dr. Aura Daraba is Associate professor at Food Science, Food Engineering and Applied Biotechnology Department, University “Dunarea de Jos” of Galati, Romania. She holds a PhD and MSc from University “Dunarea de Jos” of Galati, Romania. Dr. Daraba was a a Postdoctoral researcher at College of Life Sciences, Iowa State University, USA, a Norman Bourlaug/USAID Fellow at University of Kentucky, USA, and a postdoctoral fellow at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki funded by the Greek Government. She authored and co-authored nine books and book chapters, over 100 research publications and scientific presentations in the area of food safety and quality from farm-to-fork, foodborne pathogens control using novel technologies and natural antimicrobials. Dr. Aura Daraba works extensively is an international reviewer for scientific journals, and international research projects (Qatar National Research Fund, Graduate Women in Science Fellowships-USA; Action “Cooperation 2011”- Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning & Religious Affairs – Greece). Dr. Daraba organized multiple international conferences, workshops and webinars in the area of food safety and HACCP held in the USA, Romania, and Haiti (USAID/FAVACA/PADF project).

Alessandro Attanzio

Patent Inventor - Purification procedure of “manna impura” to obtain enriched and marketable “manna”. Guest Editor for several international scientific journals. Author of 48 publications on International journals of Biochemistry and Nutraceutics. The research topics concern: Research on synthetic or natural molecules with potential antitumor, anti-inflammatory and nutraceutical activity. Interests: Sicilian foods; bioactive compounds; phytochemicals; bioactivity; cell cultures (colon, breast, cervix, liver, neuroblastoma); cell biology; chemoprevention; oxidative stress; eryptosis; apoptosis. Theophrastos Prize from the International Pro-Mediterranean Herbarium Foundation 2017 for biochemical studies on organic molecules with nutraceutical effects extracted from Mediterranean plants.

BH Chen

President of Professors Association, Taiwan

Bing-Huei Chen, male, food scientist, received his Ph.D. degree in Food Science & Technology, Texas A & M University, USA in 1988. His postgraduate career includes working at Fu Jen University, Taipei, Taiwan as Associate Professor from 1988–1994, Professor from 1994–2004, Distinguished Chair Professor from 2003–present, Chair of Department of Nutrition and Food Science from 1994-2000, Director of Graduate Institute of Medicine from 2006–2009, and Dean of College of Human Ecology from 2012–2015. He specializes in Lipid Chemistry, Pigment Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Food Toxicology, Functional Food and Botanical Drug Development and Biological Activity Determination as well as Nanotechnology. Until now he has published 200 research articles in internationally renowned journals and authored 11 book chapters in edited books published by International Publishers. He has received numerous awards including the prestigious National Invention Gold Medal Award by Ministry of Economics, Taiwan in 2018 and was honored with Outstanding Research Scientist by Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He was also honored with International Outstanding Inventor of Biotechnology by Taiwan Inventor Association/International Innovation and Invention Alliance Association in 2019 and Distinguished Professor by Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China in 2015. Most importantly, Prof. Chen has developed a nano-product “Lycopene Chylomicron”, which has completed a phase III clinical trial in both Taiwan and USA in 2017 and demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of patients with prostatauxe syndrome. Expectedly, this product will become the first botanic drug in the world for treatment of patients with prostatauxe syndrome without side effect. More recently, the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), a European organization has honored him with IAAM Scientist Award 2020 for his contribution to the advancement of science and technology. At the same year he was also honored with Vebleo Fellow. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Recent Patents on Food, Nutrition and Agriculture” and Associate Editor of 2 journals “Journal of Food & Drug Analysis” and “Asian Science Bulletin”. In addition, he serves on the editorial board of 135 journals. Currently he is the President of Professors Association, Taiwan and was the Past President of AOAC Taiwan section from 2016-2018.

Murat Karaoglu

Dr. M. Murat Karao?lu is professor in the Department of Food Engineering under the University of Atatürk (Turkey) since 2013. Dr. Karao?lu's research is targeted on Cereal and Cereal Products Science and Technology, Food Texture, Novel Technologies in Food Processing, Quality Control. He teaches courses in Cereal and Cereal Products Technology, Food Texture, and Cooling Technology. He has three book chapters in the field of Part-baking Technology and published over 80 research articles. He is author of the book So?utma Tekni?i (Cooling Technology) in Turkish language.

Abdeen Mustafa Omer

Energy Research Institute (ERI), Egypt

Dr. Abdeen Mustafa Omer (BSc, MSc, PhD) is an Associate Researcher at Energy Research Institute (ERI). He obtained both his PhD degree in the Built Environment and Master of Philosophy degree in Renewable Energy Technologies from the University of Nottingham. He is qualified Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record within the water industry and renewable energy technologies. He has been graduated from University of El Menoufia, Egypt, BSc in Mechanical Engineering. His previous experience involved being a member of the research team at the National Council for Research/Energy Research Institute in Sudan and working director of research and development for National Water Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Sudan. He has been listed in the book WHO’S WHO in the World 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. He has published over 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 300 review articles, 25 books and 200 chapters in books.

Tarek Nour Soliman Ismail

National Research Centre, El-Buhouth St. Dokki, Egypt

Assistant Professor in Dairy Department, Industries and Nutrition Division and Centre of Scientific Excellence, Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology Laboratory, National Research Centre, El-Buhouth St., Dokki, Cairo, Egypt. He specializes in the areas of food biopolymers and colloids, and in particular on the development of functional food-based structured delivery systems for bioactive components. Soliman has published more than 21 papers in top-ranked international Food Science Journals. He has done at an application of nanoscience in food science is the encapsulation of bioactive compounds at the nano size for incorporation in some Functional food products.

Baher Effat

National Research Centre, Egypt

Baher Effat is a Research Professor of Food and Dairy Microbiology, National Research Centre, Egypt. Over 36 years of experience in Food and Dairy Bacteriology, he shared and supervised over than 6 Master and Ph.D Thesis in Food and Dairy sciences and more than 65 scientific publications in food and dairy microbiology, functional dairy products , probiotics and propionic acid bacteria and pathogenic bacteria and in Food and Dairy Products. He has shared in national and international programs and projects. He joined many international conferences and workshop, in addition to scientific activities. In addition he awarded for CAS-TWAS Visiting Scholar Fellowship from 03 Aug., 2006 to 31 October 2006.Training of young researchers and lecturers on many science-related subjects; including courses for: Microbiological Analysis of Food, Control of Bacteria, Contamination during Food Process and Isolation and Identification of Microorganisms. He is a member of the Editorial Board of several international journals. He also served as a member of the Organizing Committee in International Congresses.

Sima Hamadeh

Haigazian University, Lebanon

Dr. Sima Hamadeh is an Associate Professor of Public Health Nutrition and Program Coordinator of Nutrition and Dietetic Sciences at Haigazian University, and a senior lecturer in the Nutrition Master program at Saint Joseph University. Recently, she is a Postdoctoral Associate on a “Science Journalism” project at Northwestern University in Qatar. She received her Master and PhD from University of Montreal-Canada, which were awarded respectively the “Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence” and the “Prix d’Excellence Scientifique Franco-Libanais” from the Société des Membres de la Légion d’Honneur au Liban & the French Embassy in Lebanon. Dr. Hamadeh work closely with different ministries, organizations, and international institutions. She has several publications related to public health nutrition and policies, food marketing, e-commerce, nutrition economics, and food and sports communication strategies. She has provided many talks in national and international scientific congresses. Dr. Hamadeh was honored as a finalist for several projects and awarded special prizes for her outstanding papers in Europe, Canada, Gulf countries and in Lebanon. She is also a former member of several executive international scientific committees and associations, and a reviewer for distinguished scientific peer-reviewed journals.
